How do I care for my board?
Ballyshane pieces are all handcrafted from the highest quality wood so with a little care you can maintain the pieces beauty for a lifetime. Wood is an extremely resilient material and will last generations if you look after it properly. After each use gently rinse your board with warm soapy water, wipe dry with a soft cloth and let it stand to dry thoroughly. This will help maintain the durability of your board. Please don’t put the pieces in a dishwasher or soak as this can cause the wood to warp or splinter. If you would like to disinfect your piece we love natural cleaners such as white vinegar, or a lemon wedge with salt or baking soda. Great for your board and the environment! To keep your piece beautiful and to protect the wood we also recommend you periodically oil your piece with a food safe oil every few weeks or months, depending on how often you use it.
How do I oil my board?
We recommend you periodically oil your piece with a food safe oil to maintain and protect the beauty of the wood. Depending on how often you use your piece we would do this every few weeks or months. The more you use your piece the more you should oil it. We love using coconut oil but would avoid using vegetable oils as they can spoil and we wouldn’t want that! Apply your oil of choice liberally to the piece, making sure it is entirely covered. Make yourself a cup of tea and leave it to work its magic for 20-30 minutes. The oil will absorb into the wood completely and you can then wipe off the excess with a soft cloth, leaving you with a gorgeous glossy finish.
Why has my board moved, cracked or warped?
Under normal circumstances your board will remain relatively flat and intact, but as it is a natural product it may move if exposed to dramatic changes in environment, such as temperature or humidity. Dramatic fluctuations in the moisture content of wood can cause it to warp or crack for example if your piece is soaked in water and then dried rapidly. Making sure your piece is kept away from water, extreme moisture and temperature changes is the best way to make sure you maintain the beauty and durability of your piece. If you notice your piece is beginning to warp turning it around and cutting on the other side can help straighten it out. EXCHANGES / REFUNDS
I would like to exchange or return a piece.
We want you to be able to buy with confidence. That is why we are happy to offer a full refund or exchange if you are not 100 percent happy with your purchase, provided that you return it in saleable condition within 30 days along with proof of purchase. Unfortunately, if a piece has been custom made or is personalised it cannot be returned or exchanged. Terms and conditions apply.
I would like to return an item I bought in store by post. What do I do?
Wherever possible we would encourage you to return the item in person but we appreciate that this is not always possible. Please send it back to us with a covering letter including a daytime contact telephone number in case we have a query. As we cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit, please make sure you use a recorded delivery method. Please allow up to ten days for us to respond. Provided that the items returned fall within our policy we will refund to your original tender. If you paid cash, we will send you a cheque.
How long does it take to get a refund?
Once we have received your item, you will be refunded to your original payment method.. If this is to a debit/credit card it will appear in your account within five days, depending on your card issuer.
Ballyshane pieces are loved all over the world and we deliver worldwide. Each order can be tracked with it’s personal tracking code on your local postal services website. All Ballyshane pieces are handmade to order so please keep this in mind when ordering Please allow 2-3 working days for us to process and post your item unless otherwise stated, pre-orders etc (though we will always aim to post your products as soon as we get your order) and once wrapped for delivery you will receive an email. Delivery times are as follows, Ireland 3-5 working days, United Kingdom 5 – 7 working days, Europe 5 – 7 working days, United States of America 8 – 10 working days, Rest of World 10- 12 working days. Postage within Ireland is a €5, this includes Northern Ireland. UK delivery is €5, European delivery is €10 and the rest of the world is €20. What are my delivery options when shopping in store?
As well as offering online shopping, we can also deliver any purchases you make in store. So, whether you’ve just bought a new table that can’t be lifted or you don’t want to be weighed down with all your gorgeous purchases as you explore the gorgeous Carlow countryside, we offer a range of delivery options to suit you.

Do I need to sign for my order?
Yes, our carriers will require a signature when they deliver your parcel.
Do you hold special events in store?
From product launches to demonstrations, there is always something going on in store. Keep an eye on our events calendar, or sign up to our mailing list to make sure you never miss out.
Can my piece be personalised?
Yes, all our boards can be engraved with a personalised message of your choosing. Just select personalisation when you add your item to the cart.
Is there a charge for personalisation?
Charges vary from product to product and are shown on each individual Product Details page.
Does it take longer to receive personalised items?
Yes, all personalisation requires additional time. This can vary from product to product and will be shown on the individual Product Details page.
Can I return my personalised product?
All personalised products cannot be returned and are non-refundable. We can only exchange or refund where the personalisation is incorrect due to error on our part. If the personalisation is an error on our part, then please contact our 24/7 customer services team.
Can I cancel my personalised product?
An order containing a personalised product cannot be cancelled so please check the spelling and use of capital letters before submitting the order. If the same order contains other products, they cannot be cancelled either.
What packaging will my order be shipped in?
